Google removes 17 Android apps from Play Store:Infected by Joker Malware

Google recently removed 17 apps from the play store due to the insecurity reason. These apps observe by the security researchers Zsclar, they said apps were infected by Joker malware. Malware is a type of malicious software that harms your system. 

It creates a backdoor in your system like a rootkit & steals your sensitive data. It is a code designed by an attacker to damage data and provides unauthorized access.

Google monitors these applications for the past month. They already have a security issue multiple times then google decides to remove these apps from the Play store. 

The main reason is to detect a type of spyware that is 'Joker malware', steal your SMS, contact list through WAP wireless application protocol. The google security said," We take strict action against app when they notify illegal activities".

WAP basically provides access to the mobile device it is designed to access the information in the mobile device.WAP wireless application protocol works when the user opens the browser and accesses the website whatever he wants to access then the device sends an encoded data using a URL via WAP gateway.

The gateway is responsible for reaches the request to the webserver and getting back response using WAP to the mobile devices.WAP uses Wireless Markup language to creating web applications then file seen in the browser.

Furthermore, these kinds of malware or viruses collect your personal information like password, bank account details and may be responsible for the DOS attack. The Denial-of-service(DOS) attack is used to down the website server. It is a network of multiple bots that send requests from a different system to a particular server when the server limit is reached, the server gets down.

Google has already removed six applications from the play store earlier this month infected by Joker were reported by Anquanke. Some malware applications upload on the play store using the "dropper" technique where a clone of this app functionality of the legitimate app. 

This app doesn't show any malicious activity quickly it takes time to harm after the one or two execution. When you download an application it drops other components that contain Joker malware to harm your device.

The tech giant had also banned 11 apps in July that variant of Joker spyware discovered by cybersecurity organization. Joker has already been detected by Google in the past year. They said, "Joker is one of the most tenacious and powerful threats".Google had removed 1700 apps from the play store in 2017.

How malware Infects in the system

Here we look at the short description of malware damage in the system. Malware divide into many categories Trojan, worms, virus many more and also called malicious software that slow computer processing and also steal sensitive information.
